Our Approach

Petrovic Law is dedicated to providing exceptional service. We pride ourselves on being readily reachable by our clients and work hard to return all calls within three business hours. We like to hold monthly planning calls with our regular clients to keep on top of whatʼs happening in their businesses so that their needs can be anticipated before situations become urgent. We view ourselves as problem solvers. Our goal is to help our clientsʼ businesses grow while protecting their interests, providing certainty as to legal costs and helping them maintain peace of mind by avoiding disputes or litigation. We are flexible as to how we handle legal fees. In addition to hourly rates, we may also be able to provide fixed fees or set monthly retainers.

Technology Transactions

These days, just about every business has many significant technology aspects to its operations. When businesses need assistance handling their technology contracts, Petrovic Law can help. Ms. Petrovic has many years of experience handling technology transactions. Whether itʼs hiring technology contractors, handling software development, implementation and hosting arrangements, working with a website developer regarding the development of websites and drafting legal or privacy terms, negotiating telecommunications contracts, handling cloud computing agreements like Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) agreements, outsourcing agreements, or just about any other agreement that is technology-related, Petrovic Law can assist a business in negotiating favorable terms.

Intellectual Property

There is little that is more important to a business than protecting its trade secrets and intellectual property. Petrovic Law can help. NDAs, confidentiality agreements, and software licensing terms can seem very simple on the surface but are often more complex than they seem. There is a lot at stake in ensuring these agreements are protecting a companyʼs legitimate business interests and is another important area in which the services of a law firm like Petrovic Law can be extremely helpful.

Foundational Documents

All companies need a strong foundation in terms of their governing documents. We can incorporate new businesses as well as prepare Articles of Incorporation, Charters, By-Laws, Shareholder Agreements, Partnership Agreements, Operating Agreements, and handle corporate governance issues.

Company Policies & Employees

Petrovic Law drafts company policies for businesses to help them keep compliant with employment laws. By establishing reasonable expectations in company policies and employment agreements, employees can be informed of a companyʼs expectations as well as what actions will not be tolerated. This establishes a strong foundation for healthy employment relationships as well as the groundwork for the rightful termination of problem employees.

Standard Templates

Petrovic Law develops standard form agreements and templates that cater to our clients' specific needs. By standardizing their legal forms, businesses can streamline their contracting processes and save on legal fees while still protecting their critical business interests.

Contract Review

Contract negotiations are not always easy or straightforward. Sometimes, a larger company or a market leader has significant leverage over a smaller business. Even when it seems like larger businesses will not negotiate, an experienced lawyer may often still be able to gain valuable concessions for their clients in the contract negotiation process.  Ms. Petrovic has many years of experience with a wide variety of commercial agreements, including manufacturing and supply agreements, distributor agreements, loan and financing agreements, asset purchase agreements, joint ventures, logistics agreements, technology and telecom agreements, NDAs, and much more.

Dispute Avoidance & Litigation Management

Legal disputes can be enormously expensive for any business. It is not at all uncommon for businesses to spend tens of thousands - or even hundreds of thousands - on litigation between legal fees and settlements or judgments. Many of those disputes were avoidable if only the business relationship and underlying agreements had been more fully thought through and the incentives better aligned. Petrovic Law can help a company make better decisions and enter into stronger agreements that are drafted to avoid legal clashes down the road. This allows its clients to keep more of what they earn so businesses can focus on their growth.

Outsourced Fractional General Counsel

In additional to ad hoc legal services, Petrovic Law offers outsourced fractional general counsel services on an hourly or a fixed retainer basis. Establishing an outsourced fractional general counsel relationship with a commercial lawyer enables a company to hire a part-time general counsel when a full-time general counsel would not otherwise be affordable. This allows a company to have regular assistance from the same attorney, who can get to know its business, while still keeping a handle on legal expenses.

Our Clients

Ms. Petrovic's client list includes local, national and international technology retailers, biotechnology companies, pharmaceutical companies, national logistics companies, home and hardware companies, security companies, beverage alcohol companies, and more.
